Australian Chart Books

Compiled by Gavin Ryan

Gavin Ryan has been collating and collecting copies of Top 40 Chart lists for many years, and entering data into his computer.

Early in 2002, he approached Moonlight Publishing to help him achieve his aim of publishing his work.  During his media campaign in the middle of 2003, he has had his work featured in the daily press and now has regular guest spots with three radio stations around Australia.

All five chart books have the same format.

Each book lists the Artists who have made each individual chart alphabetically, with songs listed in chronological order, showing date of entry, entry point, highest position reached and weeks in the chart. The middle section lists each song in alphabetical order which then can be cross referenced back to the bands.

The third section has lists of trivia, pertaining to top 20 songs for each year, top 100 songs for the whole period documented, most popular songs, most number ones, etc..

Each book is spiral bound for easy use.

Each book  is posted free within Australia.

Adelaide Chart Book

1959-2002

Lists every song that has made the Sth Australian charts from 1959.  The first section lists each artist and their songs that charted, including information about the date of entry, highest point, number of weeks in the chart; the second section lists every song that charted, while the third section lists trivia, such as the top songs for each year, Top 50 songs of all time, etc.

Gavin plans to produce a similar book for Hobart and plans to have a national one that combines all the information from each of the individual states.
